5 Things To Do At Manor Before You Graduate

Regardless of whether you’re a Freshman or Sophomore, your time at Manor College will truly fly by. Therefore, it’s important to make the most of your time while it lasts! I’ve compiled this list of things I suggest everyone does before they graduate from Manor!

1.     Join a campus club

Joining clubs on campus allows you to explore interests and meet people that you wouldn’t otherwise. And most likely, those people will turn into new friends! Being in a club gives you something productive to do outside of class time, and it’s an easy addition to your resume.

2.     Make connections

Meeting new people by joining clubs allows you to not only network with your peers, but also the advisors of the clubs that you join. Connections can also be easily made by communicating with your teachers and advisor. All of these networking opportunities have the potential to turn into jobs or internships.

3.    Score an Internship

Internships can offer great experience and learning opportunities outside of the classroom. They will also improve your resume tremendously. As mentioned in number 3, internships will come your way with the right connections.

4.     Focus on your classes

Understandably, getting an education is the most important part of attending college. With focus and dedication, success in your classes is attainable. Your teachers are there to help: work with them and they’ll help you succeed! The more you communicate with your teachers, the more likely they will be to help you when you need a job, internship, or their real-world knowledge.

 5.     Work hard

Obviously, you will get the most out of your time at Manor if you put in the time and energy. Therefore, it’s something I believe must be done before graduation. Working hard will allow you to succeed in your classes, and have time for the previous 4 activities: joining clubs, making connections, interning, and learning. Additionally, working hard will market yourself as a dedicated student that your connections will want to work with. Without the right mindset and work ethic, your connections are practically useless. However, with the right attitude, you’ll acquire countless opportunities!
